India’s education sector today witnesses exciting developments ranging from global university campuses setting roots in the country to key board exam results and skill development initiatives. Imperial College London announces its first-ever India campus aligned with NEP 2020, Assam releases Class 10 HSLC results, Jamia Millia Islamia launches a high-tech Skill Hub, and IIM Ahmedabad expands internationally with a Dubai MBA campus. Here’s an overview of these landmark updates.

Imperial College London Sets Up Campus in India

In a landmark move, Imperial College London is establishing its first Global Hub in India, marking the institution’s physical presence in the country for the first time. This initiative aligns closely with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s vision to internationalize Indian education and foster research collaboration.

Located in partnership with the Ministry of Education’s GIFT City project, the hub will offer integrated research programs, joint degrees, student exchanges, and collaborative faculty efforts. Professor Hugh Brady, Imperial’s president, highlighted the college’s commitment to addressing global challenges through international cooperation.

Academic activities are expected to commence from the next academic year, opening pathways for Indian students to access world-class education domestically.

Assam Declares HSLC Class 10 Results: 75.7% Pass Rate

The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has released the HSLC Class 10 results for 2025. Over 4.19 lakh students appeared for the examination, achieving an improved overall pass percentage of 75.7%, up from last year’s 72.6%.

Girls continued to outperform boys with a pass rate of 78.5% compared to 72.6% for boys. Sivasagar district led the state with an impressive 92.3% pass rate, while many remote districts showed positive growth thanks to enhanced exam support initiatives.

Students can access their results and download digital marksheets from official portals sebaonline.org and resultsassam.nic.in, and through DigiLocker.

Jamia Millia Islamia Launches High-Tech Skill Development Hub

In a bid to boost employability and industry readiness, Jamia Millia Islamia has inaugurated a Skill Hub on its campus under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The Skill Hub offers short-term certification programs across domains such as IT, electronics, media, and entrepreneurship. These programs are free of cost and open to both university students and the wider community, aiming to bridge skill gaps and enhance vocational training opportunities.

IIM Ahmedabad Expands Globally with New Dubai MBA Campus

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is set to launch its first international campus in Dubai by 2025, offering the institute’s flagship full-time MBA program. This expansion makes IIMA the first IIM to operate a full-fledged overseas branch.

The Dubai campus will serve international students and professionals in the UAE and Gulf region, delivering IIMA’s rigorous academic curriculum adapted to local business environments. This move reflects India’s expanding influence in global education and the rising global competitiveness of its premier institutions.

In Conclusion

From Imperial College London’s entry into India and Assam’s encouraging board exam results to Jamia’s focus on skill development and IIMA’s global expansion, today’s updates paint a picture of an increasingly interconnected, innovative, and opportunity-rich Indian education ecosystem. These initiatives advance the country’s goal of nurturing talent equipped to meet global challenges and contribute to economic growth.
